Matter – What is it Really?

Have you ever asked some one – “What is the Matter?  Ever been surprised by the answer?

We all use the word Matter constantly but never really pay attention to the power of the words. Did you know that science shows that 95% of what we think, feel and perceive is stored below our awareness to analytical thought?

Here at the Matter Meter, we believe that the person who slows down, pays attention to what Really Matters and why  – Brings in life they desire … like a magnet.

Most people think that our analytical or Conscious mind makes all our decisions. This motivates us to study and grow out ability to process facts as we believe this will bring us prosperity.

The problem is unfortunately, that a perfected Conscious mind makes us more impulsive instead … our strong mental tool rehashes the facts we put in our brain.  When something happens in our life, our conscious mind says, “this looks familiar, HERE IS how to react”, which usually is not right for this particular situation.

Our awakened Conscious mind does all the Knowing..it works continuously, while you are awake, and while you are asleep.

It is our Sub-Conscious Mind (gut feel) that has all the wisdom.

The subconscious mind is more susceptible to influence by impulses of thought mixed with “feeling” or emotion, than by those originating solely in the reasoning portion of the mind.

Your subconscious mind works continuously, while you are awake, and while you are asleep tapping into the universal laws of wisdom.

The Matter Meter.com website is dedicated to discussing where exactly is this Subconscious place and how to maximize the power of our minds to create the life we desire.

You will see to the right, our Mater Meter Steps of awareness.  We broke down our discussions to lifes most common uses of the word Matter and the underlining true wisdom behind each.

Please get involved in our discussion, ask questions, offer comments and beat the Matter Meter drum with us.

Ps….if we have helped you in anyway and you wish to donate to the ongoing reasearch we are doing, thank you…… your donation is appreciated

Are you planting the right Seeds!

Your thoughts are the seed of your future … protect them for future harvest.

thoughtseedsA thought “magnetized” with emotion may be compared to a seed which, when planted in fertile soil, germinates, grows, and multiplies itself over and over again, until that one small seed becomes countless millions of seeds of the same brand!

The mind never becomes tired, but sometimes it becomes bored with the “food” it gets.

Computer experts use the acronym gigo — garbage in, garbage out — to illustrate the fact that the computer can process only the information it is given. The same is true with your mind.

foodforthoughtIf you feed it healthful, nourishing “food,” it will grow strong and agile, but if you restrict it to a regular diet of mental “junk food,” your mind will become unhealthy, negative, and unproductive. It will return to you what you put into it.

Feed your mind a balanced, nourishing diet. Study information from a variety of fields to help you keep up with the latest trends. You may find that the best ideas for your business come from a totally unrelated area.

Do you Worry about Decisions?

What would the world be like now if Steve Jobs worried about his original opinion about the cell phone?

“We don’t think we’d do well in the cell phone business.”
— Steve Jobs (2003)

How about Edison?

“Fooling around with alternating current is just a waste of time. Nobody will use it, ever.”
— Thomas Edison (1889)

Make a decision and see how it plays out. Worrying over conditions once we have reached a decision . . . tends to create the failure we fear!

You take the first important step toward determining your own future when you make the conscious decision to approach every task with a positive outlook and to stick with the job until it is done.

If you find this attitude difficult at first, you’ll discover it eventually becomes part of you. And after you begin to realize the benefits that accrue to you because you are known as someone who always gives a little extra, you wouldn’t consider doing things any other way.

The people who are promoted to the best positions in the company are those who make it a practice to go the extra mile, to do more than they are paid to do, and to do it willingly and cheerfully.

“I think one of my strengths is that I view anything that has happened up to this point to be history. I really don’t care about the mistakes I made three seconds ago in the market.
What I care about is what I am going to do from the next moment on”
– Paul Tudor-Jones (in Market Wizards)

Feed thought-follow wisdom!

We are just beginning to understand the mysterious and powerful ways in which the mind works. The wise person makes sure that they give  clear, concise, instructions to their mind so that they receive trust worthy thoughts in return.

Feed your mind the big 4 questions and watch the strength of thoughts you get back.

1.   What is going on or should be done
2.   Why should something be done
3.   When is action needed to be done
4.   Where is something needed

. . .and then wait to receive the feedback thoughts. You will get:

. . .How should action be taken?

This process encourages the power of both your conscious thinking and also your unconscious wisdom. Breaking down the issue into it’s 4 input parts gives your wisdom tools time for input and guidance.

Many “new” ideas are really nothing more than a new combination of two well-known products or ideas. Nevertheless, great fortunes have been built upon such combinations when they are supported by a clever name and marketing campaign.

For Example:
The man who dipped a chunk of ice cream in chocolate and called it Eskimo Pie made a fortune for the five seconds of imagination it took to create the idea.

James Webb Young outlined a definite process that we can use to tap into this process in his book A Technique for Producing Ideas:

1.   Gather the appropriate information.
2.   Work the information over in your mind.
3.   Incubate the idea in your subconscious.
4.   Recognize the “Eureka!” stage when the idea is born.
5.   Shape and develop the idea for practical application.

The technique works. Give it a try the next time you’re searching for a creative solution to an old problem.

Wishing will not bring riches

Every human being who reaches the age of understanding of the purpose of money wishes for it.

pet-close-up-tuffyWishing will not bring riches. But desiring riches with a state of mind that becomes an obsession, then planning definite ways and means to acquire riches, and backing those plans with persistence which does not recognize failure, will bring riches.

It’s common knowledge that the person who knows the most about how to improve the productivity of any job is the person who holds that job. Why is it, then, that we are often reluctant to offer suggestions for improvement? Perhaps we’ve seen too many layoffs and reorganizations to trust the cracker-barrel wisdom that our goal should be to work ourselves out of a job — so that we can move on to a bigger and better position. Nevertheless, the old wisdom is still sound.

money-ideasIf you find a way to do things better, faster, or cheaper, you increase your value to your employer. You will be asked to participate in planning sessions and quality circles because you’ve demonstrated that you know how to make things work more efficiently. It’s inevitable that you will be promoted, because you will become one of those exceptional employees who are too valuable to lose.

Find out how to get production up, and it will drag you and a bigger paycheck along with it.

Inside, You know what is right.

There is no compromise or negotiation when it comes to who will run your life. Either you take charge and live a productive life of your choosing or you allow yourself to be ruled by circumstances. But there will inevitably be setbacks.

us dollar puzzle and magnifierLike everyone else, you will have days when everything goes right and you are on top of the world. Relish those days, enjoy them, and remember them. Recall the euphoria that accompanied them when you need an extra measure of positive thinking to get back in the saddle after you’ve experienced an embarrassing and painful fall.

The most intuitive people pay close attention to how life turns from the choice we make. Do good or bad things happen from my choices?  Many believe there is a big scoring system used to push us through the learning process. If you have ever asked yourself…why does this keep happening to me….you have experienced it. The lessons tend to get harder until we learn what we need too.

The Hindu call it Karma, a concept of reincarnation (rebirth after death).

According to Hinduism (the main religion of India), after death a person’s soul, or spiritual essence, transmigrates (moves) into a new body and is reborn. When the soul transmigrates, it may enter a body that is in a higher or lower state of existence than was lived by the previous person.

For example, the soul could become a king, an animal, or even an insect. Where the soul may go next is determined by karma—the thoughts, words, and actions of the person who previously inhabited the soul. If the person’s karma (cause and effect of choices)  was good, the soul will be reborn into a higher state of existence. Conversely, if the karma has been bad, the soul will inhabit a lower state.

In the old West, a cowboy expression went, “There never was a horse that couldn’t be rode, and there never was a rider that couldn’t be throwed.”

Its up to you which you want to be! So the question is:

If no one is looking….does it Matter?

The imagination is the workshop of the soul, it is we shape all the plans for our achievement.

Does Success Matter?

If you are waiting for success to seek you out, you are headed for a big disappointment.

can't wait for successSuccess is rarely forced upon anyone, and it will never overtake you unexpectedly. You must prepare for it and actively seek it out if you ever plan to achieve any measure of success in your life.

Constantly be alert to changes in your business or profession. Subscribe to trade magazines and professional journals, join industry associations or professional societies, and get to know the experts in the field in order to keep abreast of new developments.

When you get yourself under complete control, you can be your own boss.

We all have moments when we allow others to cause us to react emotionally, especially in anger. Often we regret our response later, and we vow we will never allow ourselves to behave in this fashion again. The next time you feel the anger rising, remind yourself that no one can make you angry or emotional without your consent — indeed, your active participation is required.

Those who have learned to manage themselves are the individuals who are destined to be leaders. They are chosen to manage others because they have demonstrated that they can manage themselves. They are people of character.

Who is the Weakest Link?

Experts in human behavior have discovered that it is virtually impossible for an individual member of a group not to be affected by other members.

only as stong as the weakest linkLikewise, the group itself is only as strong as its weakest link. It is rarely possible for the entire group to raise itself to higher levels unless they raise the skill of the weakest member.

There is an interesting correlation between negative thinking and weak performance. Don’t associate with those who are afflicted with the mental sickness of constant negative thinking. Associate with happy, positive, productive people. Your time is an asset to be managed more carefully than your money; spend it with people who share your desire to succeed and your commitment to maintain a Positive Mental Attitude.

A mind ill with negative attitudes is more dangerous than a sick body, for its sickness is always contagious.

Our thoughts and deeds cause an effect in the world often called a karmic event.  The law cause and effectof karma is the law of causation. For example, a seed is a cause for the growth of a tree, which is the effect. The tree produces seeds and becomes the cause for the seeds.

It can be said that each action in thought and deed has a certain effect on who we are, and who we are to become, but in reality karma has nothing to do with a punishment or reward system. Rather, it is a natural law evolving toward balance as a whole

If the thing you wish to do is right, and you believe in it, go ahead and do it! Put your dream across, and never mind what “they” say if you meet with temporary defeat, for “they,” perhaps, do not know that every failure brings with it the seed of an equivalent success.

Do you feel Lucky?

The only luck in the world is the luck you create for yourself.

timeforchangeOnly in the casino are the odds in favor of the house. In real life, the odds always favor those who use their time wisely to pursue their goals constructively, to fill every day with a full measure of honest work. Bad luck befalls those who waste time and mental energy hoping for the big break that will propel them to greatness. We all have the same 24 hours available to us in each day. Most of us spend eight hours working and eight hours sleeping . What you do with the remaining eight hours will have a tremendous influence on the level of success you achieve in your life.

Most misfortunes are the result of misused time. That is one of the tricks of opportunity. It has a sly habit of slipping in by the back door, and often it comes disguised in the form of misfortune, or temporary defeat. Perhaps this is why so many fail to recognize opportunity.

Are you waiting for success to arrive, or are you going out to find where it is hiding?

If you are waiting for success to seek you out, you are headed for a big disappointment. Success is rarely forced upon anyone, and it will never overtake you unexpectedly. You must prepare for it and actively seek it out if you ever plan to achieve any measure of success in your life. Constantly be alert to changes in your business or profession. Subscribe to trade magazines and professional journals, join industry associations or professional societies, and get to know the experts in the field in order to keep abreast of new developments

stepssuccessTrue riches of life are far more likely to accrue to those who actively go out and seek them. Seldom does success come marching in accompanied by a brass band in full regalia. More often, it’s achieved by those who labor long and hard. Take the initiative, and you will create your own opportunities. There is no substitute for action backed up by a well-thought-out plan.

Strong Character – Great Decisions!

Sound character is our greatest asset because it provides the power with which we may ride the emergencies of life instead of going down under them. Without Positive Mental Attitude, life might be described as long periods of uncertainty punctuated by occasional emergencies that shake you to the very core of your being. The emergencies may be financial, personal, or health related, but each must be dealt with separately and swiftly. The surest way to deal with any crisis is to focus on solutions, not on the probable cause of the problem or who should be blamed for it. It is much more productive in your circumstance to conduct a quick damage assessment. Think through various alternatives and their consequences. Then act to implement the best solution. If you deal with life’s emergencies as they occur — on your own terms — you will be a stronger, better person for having looked them in the eye and conquered them. Faith is the head chemist of the mind. When faith is blended with thought, the subconscious mind instantly picks up the vibration, translates it into its spiritual equivalent, and transmits it to Infinite Intelligence, as in the case of prayer.
