Do You Believe?

If you don’t believe it yourself, don’t ask anyone else to do so.

telephathyIt is virtually impossible not to transmit your doubts and insecurities to others through body language, tone of voice, inflection, word choice, and other subtle characteristics. When you show threw your actions that you lack self-confidence, other people will  doubt your ability to perform. You can gain the respect and confidence of others.

Begin by making a list of all the things you like about yourself and the things you would like to change. Make a conscious effort to build upon your positive strengths and correct your weaknesses. Weak desires bring weak results, just as a small amount of fire makes a small amount of heat. It may not be easy, but if you assess yourself objectively and persevere in your efforts, you will eventually prevail.

A good fisherman goes out of his way to bait his hook with what the fish prefer — which might not be a bad tip for those who wish to succeed in human relationships.

dog_fishJust as in a conversation it’s a good idea to listen more than you talk, it is also wise in relationships to think about the well-being of others more than you think about your own wishes and desires. When you constantly strive to treat others in the same way you would like them to treat you, you become a person whom others like to be around, one who commands their respect, confidence, and loyalty. When you learn to manage emotions and your ego, and when you learn to always consider the needs and desires of others, it is inevitable that you will “bait your hook” with kindness and consideration, and catch more friends than you can count.

Do you ever Quit?

The average person quits on their first failure. That’s why there have been many average men and only one Edison.

Opportunity knocked but you were outThomas Edison once observed that the reason most folks don’t recognize opportunity when it comes knocking is that it is often dressed in coveralls and looks like work. Edison knew that anything worthwhile never comes easily; if it were easy, anyone could do it. Because he persisted far beyond the point the average person would consider reasonable and rational, he produced inventions that even the most learned people of the day considered impossible.

Great advances in knowledge are often achieved by people with an almost fanatical devotion to finding the solution to a problem. Flashes of inspiration alone are not enough to ensure success; they must be followed by determined, persistent action.

The individual who only does enough work to get by seldom gets much more than “by.”

cause and effectThere is a cause-and-effect relationship between your actions and the rewards that accrue to you. When you put more of yourself into your career, your personal relationships, your religious faith, and any other aspect of your life, you get more out of it. If your ambitions are greater than simply “getting by” in life, you will never be truly happy with your company, your job, or yourself unless you do your best every day. Your harshest critic and your toughest competitor should be you.

Life says, “make good or make room, but don’t make excuses.”

It is this — all achievement, all earned riches, have their beginning in an idea! If you are ready for the secret you already possess one half of it; therefore, you will readily recognize the other half the moment it reaches your mind.

Faith is the only known antidote for failure!

Character is NOT reputation!

Your reputation is what people think you are; your character is what you are.

You want your reputation and your character to match, but concentrate on your character. You may be able to fool others about the kind of person you really are for a time, but it seldom lasts for long.

The surest way to make sure your character and your reputation are the same is to live your life in such a way that nothing you do would embarrass you if it were printed on the front page of the newspaper. Good character means not ever taking ethical shortcuts, even though everyone else may be doing so. You build good character by doing the right thing because it’s the right thing to do.

When considering a loan, a banker attaches great importance to three things: the borrower’s ability to repay the loan, the borrower’s credit history, and the borrower’s character. The first two considerations can be calculated mathematically; the third requires judgment and experience typically labeled – TRUSTWORTHY!

Bankers often lend money on character, but seldom on reputation alone, for they have learned that not all reputations are deserved.  Our character is rooted in our morals around honesty.  Its built on the fact that we either ARE or ARE  NOT honest! There is no sometimes…

Prudent bankers have learned that persons of character are always a good risk because they take their obligations seriously while those who spend their resources on the trappings of success should be avoided at all costs.

Protect your good reputation as you would protect your home, your investments, and your life. Once shattered, a good reputation can only be regained by those who have developed the courage and willpower to persevere in the face of great odds.

If others are not providing you the trust that you desire….look in the mirror and ask yourself. “Am I living every moment with trustworthy integrity”

Most of us at one time or another have been misunderstood by those who are important to us. They thought we planned to take an action they disliked when in truth our intentions were to proceed in an entirely different direction. Such misunderstandings are usually quickly righted and life goes on. The same is true with character and reputation.

If your reputation is for some reason misaligned with your character, it will soon quickly right itself when others discover for themselves that you are not at all the kind of person they had assumed you were. If your foundation is strong, you never need to be concerned about such misunderstandings. Others will learn soon enough what kind of person you really are. Spend your time and energy in constant self-inspection and self-improvement, building strong character, and you will never have to worry about what others think of you.

You may think that no one is watching…but they ARE!

Action is addictive!

Loafing on your job hurts your employer, but it hurts you more.

Summer-hammickSome people expend far more energy getting out of work than they would spend doing the job well. They may think they are fooling the boss, but they are only fooling themselves. An employer may not know all the details of every job or every task an individual performs, but a good manager knows the results of effort. You can be sure that when promotions or plum assignments become available, they won’t be offered to loafers.

If you do your job cheerfully and well, not only are you more likely to be recognized and rewarded, but you also learn how to do your job better. As you become more proficient,  you become more valuable to your employerleap. You also acquire the most valuable of all assets — the confidence that comes from knowing you possess skills that will increase your value to any organization.

Save expense for the company, and the company will save money for you in proportion.

The rewards may not come today, next week, or even next year, but they will come. When you make it a practice to look after the company’s assets as you would look after your own, you have shown that you are worthy of the trust of your employer — and your fellow employees. You
are destined for bigger and better things. The savings need not be large. It’s
the habit of eliminating waste and searching for opportunities to save dataoverwhelmmoney that’s important.

Make it a practice to examine everything you do to see how it could be done more economically, and it is inevitable that you will soon find yourself in charge of larger budgets and more people.

You cannot succeed in life by scattering your forces and trying to do a dozen things at the same time.

Turn Fear into Future Success!

Worry and fear are negative emotions that serve no useful purpose other than drag you down.

ignored-alone-sad-forgottenBoth tend to expand if left unchecked until they crowd out positive emotions and beliefs, taking over your mind and filling it with counterproductive emotions that cause you to doubt your ability to succeed at anything you attempt. Unless you control worry and fear, one day you will discover that they control you.

While the emotions can’t always be corrected with logic or reason, they are always susceptible to action. Act, and even if your actions aren’t entirely appropriate for the situation, the very act of doing something — anything — constructive will have a positive effect on your mind and attitude.

You must keep your mind sharply focused on your goals, and you must have a grounding philosophy that sustains you when the going is tough. When you apply the principles of seeyourfuturesuccess consistently until they become a part of you, no longer will you have to stop and think about what you should do in any given situation. Your positive response will be automatic.

Make sure you spend time in reflection and study. Clearly establish your goals and develop a plan and timetable for their achievement. Read the works of motivational writers and the great philosophers, and use the knowledge you gain to develop your own code of conduct. Establish your own philosophy of success that you can stick with — day in and day out — regardless of what the rest of the world does.

If you are worried or afraid of anything, there is something in your mental attitude that needs correction. It doesn’t pay to look at others through a foggy mental attitude.

There are many forms of Wealth!

Financial wealth is only one measure of success.

jumpforjoy2The truly happy and successful individual is the man or woman who is healthy, financially secure, challenged in his or her career, and is making a difference in the lives of others. It isn’t always easy to render service to others. The world is a cynical and dangerous place where others are likely to mistrust your motives. They can be convinced only by consistent, sustained, outstanding service that is enthusiastically and cheerfully offered. In time, even the most cynical individual will come to accept your willingness to go the extra mile if you are sincere in your offers of assistance and in the service you provide.

bending-over-backwardsIt’s easy to find fault with any job. Whatever your occupation or profession, there are always some unpleasant and mundane tasks you would rather omit. It is also easy to allow the things you dislike to dominate your thoughts and for you to overlook the fact that the things you dislike about your work are really a very small percentage of the overall job. Make it a point to find something good in your job every day. It need not be a big, important event; simply finding joy in doing one thing particularly well will suffice. Then, instead of looking forward to the end of the day, you will find yourself actually looking forward to going to work.

Instead of complaining about what you don’t like about your job, start commending what you do like and see how quickly it improves.

Matter – What is it Really?

Have you ever asked some one – “What is the Matter?  Ever been surprised by the answer?

We all use the word Matter constantly but never really pay attention to the power of the words. Did you know that science shows that 95% of what we think, feel and perceive is stored below our awareness to analytical thought?

Here at the Matter Meter, we believe that the person who slows down, pays attention to what Really Matters and why  – Brings in life they desire … like a magnet.

Most people think that our analytical or Conscious mind makes all our decisions. This motivates us to study and grow out ability to process facts as we believe this will bring us prosperity.

The problem is unfortunately, that a perfected Conscious mind makes us more impulsive instead … our strong mental tool rehashes the facts we put in our brain.  When something happens in our life, our conscious mind says, “this looks familiar, HERE IS how to react”, which usually is not right for this particular situation.

Our awakened Conscious mind does all the Knowing..it works continuously, while you are awake, and while you are asleep.

It is our Sub-Conscious Mind (gut feel) that has all the wisdom.

The subconscious mind is more susceptible to influence by impulses of thought mixed with “feeling” or emotion, than by those originating solely in the reasoning portion of the mind.

Your subconscious mind works continuously, while you are awake, and while you are asleep tapping into the universal laws of wisdom.

The Matter Meter.com website is dedicated to discussing where exactly is this Subconscious place and how to maximize the power of our minds to create the life we desire.

You will see to the right, our Mater Meter Steps of awareness.  We broke down our discussions to lifes most common uses of the word Matter and the underlining true wisdom behind each.

Please get involved in our discussion, ask questions, offer comments and beat the Matter Meter drum with us.

Ps….if we have helped you in anyway and you wish to donate to the ongoing reasearch we are doing, thank you…… your donation is appreciated

Are you planting the right Seeds!

Your thoughts are the seed of your future … protect them for future harvest.

thoughtseedsA thought “magnetized” with emotion may be compared to a seed which, when planted in fertile soil, germinates, grows, and multiplies itself over and over again, until that one small seed becomes countless millions of seeds of the same brand!

The mind never becomes tired, but sometimes it becomes bored with the “food” it gets.

Computer experts use the acronym gigo — garbage in, garbage out — to illustrate the fact that the computer can process only the information it is given. The same is true with your mind.

foodforthoughtIf you feed it healthful, nourishing “food,” it will grow strong and agile, but if you restrict it to a regular diet of mental “junk food,” your mind will become unhealthy, negative, and unproductive. It will return to you what you put into it.

Feed your mind a balanced, nourishing diet. Study information from a variety of fields to help you keep up with the latest trends. You may find that the best ideas for your business come from a totally unrelated area.

Do YOU respect Yourself?

Sound character begins with the decisions we make ….. our actions start in our mind.

No one really knows for sure how we develop self-respect, but the experts believe it begins at a very early age. Parents who show their children that they love them unconditionally — just because they are who they are — build a foundation of healthy self-respect that will sustain the children for the rest of their lives. From this foundation comes the moral and ethical decision making structure known as character.

Healthy self-respect should not be confused with egotism. An egotist loves himself for the most superficial of reasons, while a self-respecting person takes pride in qualities of character that he or she has worked hard to develop.

Why does your life direction start in your thinking?

Because the way that you treat yourself greatly influences how others perceive you. If you are a confident, cheerful, positive person, your co-workers, friends, and family will be attracted to your personality. If you are unhappy, negative, and always complaining about your situation, others will be repelled.

Even when at times you don’t feel very happy, by forcing yourself to behave in a positive fashion, you will find that you soon feel genuinely upbeat, because your subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between an artificial emotion and the real thing.

When you behave positively, you will positively influence everyone around you — including yourself.

Everything begins with Desire!

The chances are that your job likes you precisely as much as you like it, but no more.

jump-outYou are the world’s greatest expert on your job, and you can make it into what you choose. You may have a job description, but there are few jobs in the world that come with detailed instructions. A job description simply provides a foundation upon which you may build the perfect job for yourself. When you give generously to it, a job responds with a full measure of satisfaction, personal growth, financial rewards, and promise for the future.

If you are in a job you absolutely hate, and you have considered all the alternatives and decided that you will never like your job, find something else. But if you, like most people, dislike a few things about your work, but on balance believe you have a pretty good position, get busy making it the greatest job in the world. In your career, as in life, you get in direct proportion to what you give.

Everything you create or acquire begins in the form of desire.

In order to act, you must have a purpose. If you want to act successfully in all but the most mundane affairs, you must embrace that purpose with a burning desire. Many people think they want to be successful, but since they do not back that thought with an intense drive, they never achieve success. Cultivate your desire. Feed it with thoughts of yourself enjoying whatever it is you seek. It’s like stoking the furnace of a steam engine. You need to build up enough pressure to carry yourself over hills; if your desire doesn’t burn hotly enough, you’ll find yourself stalled and rolling backwards. The secret to action is a red-hot desire.

Knowledge is only potential power. It becomes power only when, and if, it is organized into definite plans of action and directed to a definite end.

smileFar too many people spend their entire lives waiting for that glorious day when the perfect opportunity presents itself to them. Too late, they realize that each day held opportunity for those who sought it out. If you have not formulated a plan for what you would like to accomplish in your life, don’t waste another minute. When you have

Definiteness of Purpose fueled by a burning desire to reach your objectives, nothing can stand in your way. Don’t wait around waiting for life to happen to you. When you know what you want and how you expect to earn it, life will agree to your terms, not the other way around.

Motivate yourself to improve continually by competing with yourself. As you perform a specific task, look for shortcuts that will help you finish it faster. Use the time you save to analyze other parts of your job, volunteer to help others with difficult or time-consuming tasks, or to tackle a new, more rewarding assignment.
